September Topics
This month we are focusing on getting back into the routine of school. I will be reminding students of my services at school and how they can access me for counseling. We will also be playing some "getting to know you" games.
We are going to be brushing up on important skills for school success. Each class should have me in their classroom for about 4 lessons this month. Some of the things we are going to be doing are as follows:
reviewing active listening, playing listening games, learning how we are alike and different and understanding how this is important, discussing respect and how to show it with adults and kids, and reviewing responsibilities we have at home and at school. I will also be having"minute meetings" with students during one week of classroom lessons where they will each check in with me for a minute or two about how the year is starting out.
Some of the books and videos we are going to be using are listed below.
